Birthday Celebrations
It is highly discouraged to pass out party invitations at school unless all of the girls or all of the boys are invited in our class. Students feel left out when they are excluded.
Please note that balloons should not be taken on the school bus for safety reasons.
Some families wish to send birthday treats for the class, but please do not feel obligated. Contact me in advance so we can be prepared. Please do not send in homemade goods.
Treats would need to be individual pre-packaged treats such as: wrapped candy, snack cakes, Rice Krispie treats, granola bars, fruit snacks, or fruit roll-ups. Or a pencil for each student is a good non-food alternative. If you have other ideas, please let me know.
Another idea to celebrate your child instead of sending in treats is for your family to choose together and purchase a new book to donate to our school library. How fun it would be for your child to help make that selection! Our class would love to be the first to read the book and then pass it on to become a permanent addition to our Needham School library.
